    You can't say there isn't any difference between them. They have similarities in some areas.

    Read the Republican party's platform, then read the Democrat's. Are they the same?
    And we all know you can believe what politicians say. :rolleyes:

    Democommies want a form of communism or socialism, and they want it twenty minutes ago.

    Repugnitards want a blend of crony capitalism and fascism, and they want it tomorrow or the next day.

    Or, to use a different example:

    The US is a small boat, headed for a waterfall. The Repugnicons are rowing as hard as they can toward the waterfall. The Democommies attached a motor and are driving as fast as they can toward the waterfall.

    Repugnicons only support the 2nd Amendment when it can be used as a tool to get them elected. Once they've BEEN elected, they chip away at freedom just as much as the Democommies. The Bush I ban on imported firearms, and Bush II's ramrodding of the Patriot Act are two examples.

    Fuck them both. Fucking turds.

    The Democrats and rhino Republicans who want to ban guns.

    You can't say there isn't any difference between them. They have similarities in some areas.
    No, they are the same. First, the Republican Party no longer exists in its original form. It has been taken over by rhino Republicans who would pass gun ban legislation in a heart beat, but they know if they do that they will be voted out of office. Just look at all the Republicans who are for making the illegals legal. Why didn't they help enforce the immigration laws of the United States? Who helped the Democrats pass the unconstitutional Patriot Act and NDAA? Why aren't the Republicans speaking out about the unconstitutional NSA spying on U.S. citizens.

    Hell, both parties passed a law allowing the President of the United States to kill any U.S citizen with a trial.

    Read the Republican party's platform, then read the Democrat's. Are they the same?
    These are nothing more than political platitudes. Why don't we have a balanced budget? Why are we in needless wars?

    The Republicans have had enough time to fix the problems of this country, but, have failed to do so.

    Basically, the Democrats are moving faster than the Republicans, moving this country toward tyranny. But, both parties are going down the same path.

    Not much argument from me, as I agree. There are still some true Republicans though, like Ted Cruz.

    Edit - Warning, Conspiracy Theory: I also think the NSA has a bunch of dirt on some of the Republican leadership. The Democrats are using that to keep them in line.

    Right, sorry I've been absent but I've just sacked my crappy ISP and got a new and much faster one.

    That may be yet there can only be a finite amount of consumption. The jobs won't exist if there is nobody to purchase the goods/services because they can't afford to.
    If you are thinking only in terms of demand-side economics, then yes. What a lot of people don't realise now is that there is a competing economic ideology known as the Austrian school which is more of a development of the Classical school. Because Keynes was such a massive personality and had huge ability, he more or less made sure that Keynesianism became the only show in town certainly from the 50's onwards but arguably from the 30's.

    However, what you may be neglecting here is the supply-side of the equation, in that when something is produced it comes with its own demand. To give an example, there was no demand for iPhones before the mobile phone was invented. So to say that iPhones are supported purely by demand is not the whole story. How could they have come about if there was no demand?

    That is the case with Walmart in the USA (all I really know about, but I bet there are others), people working there make so little they qualify for government assistance. That is a direct subsidy to rich people.
    I emphatically agree! Listen to Milton Friedman;

    "Minimum wage laws are just discrimination against the low skilled".

    Minimum wages help push up the wages of those on higher earnings, but for those youngsters starting out, it makes it harder to get that all-important first job, without which, you are eternally screwed.

    Look at this chart;

    You may be right, but in the past, men were even more disposable to capitalists. A friend of mine was telling me about one of his older relatives (>90) and he worked on a local bridge that is still standing, circa 1936. Men were worked till they dropped and simply replaced because there were so many with nothing and no other choice.
    Don't be too quick to give government the credit for what trade unions have achieved! Collective bargaining is in my opinion, a feature of the free market and in those days, it was government regulation that forbade collective bargaining!

    Note where the graph first diverges, right around when Nixon went off the gold standard. And see how it really separates with the introduction of free trade. Society has been conned by the 'trickle down' theory. Its a big 'hoover up' in reality.
    I really should have defined what I meant by productivity. What you are saying is correct, but is probably a feature of technology.

    What I was referring to was the fact that GDP dropped in 2009 and has flat-lined, but employment (in the UK anyway) has held up pretty well. This means that output per person has reduced. It is a riddle a lot of economists are struggling with now but I think it is down to bureaucracy myself because I see it at my own company.

    The last ACTUAL Democrat was JFK. They have since been co-opted by the Marxists.

    JFK and previous Democrats (excluding FDR and maybe Wilson) wanted a vigorous private sector doing very very well - so they could tax the everliving fuck out of it to pay for their libtard social engineering cuntfuckery.

    Democrats since JFK however have wanted to eliminate the private sector.

    The Republitards on the other hand have been doing exactly as Dave said - they merely suggest going to full blown police state gulag Marxism slightly slower than do the Demon Rats democrats.

    And all of this bullshit about 'Conservatism'....WHAT IN THE FUCK IS THERE LEFT TO CONSERVE???!?!!!??!!!!!

    I no longer have ANY emotional investment in preventing the planetary shitstorm that will mar the 21st century and will serve as a warning for thousands of years to come as what NOT to do. IN fact, the sooner we can get to it we can get through it and see what rises from the ashes on the other side.

    America is over, the future has been cancelled, and we are ALL fucked.
